Q: What qualifications must applicants possess in order to enter the Bakers Project:Design! contest?
A: There are no age restrictions or required experience for Bakers Project:Design! applicants. You must be able to upload images of 5-10 original/self-designed looks by Midnight CST September 21, 2009.
Q: Must my design submissions be sewn by me, or am I permitted to have a seamstress produce my designs?
A: You are permitted to work with a seamstress.
Q: What is the deadline for submitting my designs?
A: Designers can enter the Bakers Project:Design! contest starting August 17. Entries must be received by September 21, 2009 at Midnight CST.
Q: Is there a timeframe during which voting takes place, or would it benefit me to submit my designs as soon as possible in order to attract early voters?
A: Voting starts on August 17. The sooner you upload your designs, the sooner voters will be able to view and vote for them.
Q: Must my design submissions be exclusive to the Bakers Project:Design! contest?
A: No. Design submissions can be school projects or from previously-launched collections. Finalists’ collections shown at Saint Louis Fashion Week, however, must make their runway debuts at Saint Louis Fashion Week.
Q: Can I show the same collection I am showing at Saint Louis Fashion Week in another city’s Fashion Week?
A: Yes, but fashions shown at Saint Louis Fashion Week must make their runway debuts at Saint Louis Fashion Week.
Q: Can voters place multiple votes?
A: Yes. There is no limit as to number of votes one can place for any one designer. Voters are also permitted to vote for more than one designer.
Q: If I am a finalist, when/how will I be notified?
A: The 6 Bakers Project:Design! finalists will be notified on September 23 via email.
Q: If a finalist, will I get to design my Saint Louis Fashion Week runway show (choose models, music, hair/makeup looks, shoes, etc.)?
A: Yes, you will design your own runway show, with the Saint Louis Fashion Week team acting as your producer and liaison between you and all sponsors.
Q: If a finalist, will travel to and accommodations in St. Louis be provided?
A: If based outside of St. Louis, finalists will receive a complimentary room at HoteLumiere on the night of Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 (show date). Finalists are responsible for their own airfare or other travel expenses, in addition to the transportation of their collections.
Q: If a finalist, to how many Saint Louis Fashion Week attendees will I be showing?
A: The consistently sold-out Saint Louis Fashion Week venue at Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels holds 600 guests. In addition, Saint Louis Fashion Week shows attract local, regional and national attention, with coverage ranging from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Charter Cable to Women’s Wear Daily and the Style Network.
Q: What designers have shown at Saint Louis Fashion Week in seasons past?
A: Saint Louis Fashion Week has hosted some of fashion’s best-known names and most-respected emerging designers, including Rachel Pally, Meghan Fabulous, Laurel Berman of Black Halo, Yoana Baraschi, Kimora Lee Simmons, Wrath Arcane, Miacro and many more.
Q: What press coverage does Saint Louis Fashion Week typically receive?

Q: During what time frame must the winner redeem his/her prize (photo shoot, etc.)?
A: Your photo shoot and website launch must take place within one year of the date on which you were awarded the prize.

A: 963Collective has worked with numerous clients ranging from small businesses to international Fortune 500 companies. Clients include ALIVE magazine, Anheuser-Busch, Harley-Davidson, Washington University and Saint Louis Fashion Week.
Q: If I win Bakers Project:Design!, will I be responsible for maintaining/updating my website once it is designed/launched?
A: Yes. 963Collective will launch your website, but will not be responsible for updating content and adding new seasonal collections.
Q: Can I enter the Bakers Project:Design! contest in subsequent seasons?
A: Yes. If you are not one of the six finalists this season, you may enter Bakers Project:Design! again.
